Our lucky 13 comes to a close and to be honest, I thought there would be more to it than that. It has always been such a big deal. Either way, we hope you enjoy it
Hey everybody! Welcome back! We are doing the second part of our Friday the 13th, um, superstitions, crimes, and history. Um, my name is Vera. Mia! And this is Spectral Homicide. Sorry, I'm stretching. Okay, so um, Mia, what's the album of the day called again? Uh, Necropalace by Worm. She chose this because it came out on Friday the 13th. And it's my favorite band. It is her favorite band. Um, she also met both the members.
SPEAKER_01Actually, yeah, both the members and also the people who performed with them.
SPEAKER_00Yeah, and she got their autographs.
SPEAKER_01I did. And I got a picture with Phil. Um, I tried I got a picture with Phantom when he was on stage, but I met him off stage when he had his makeup off.
SPEAKER_00Yeah.
SPEAKER_01Yeah. He was a pretty boy. He was he was very pretty.
SPEAKER_00Wow. Okay. So there is a fear of the number 13. I'm gonna butcher it, so Mia goes.
SPEAKER_01Trisky Decaphobia. No, wait, frigged Triskai Decaphobia.
SPEAKER_00Oh, I just saw Triskai.
SPEAKER_01That's the fear of the number 13.
SPEAKER_00Yeah, but the fear of Friday the 13th is called Para Skibbity. Okay, here, wait, read this. Skibbity do dah. What is that? Paras Skibity toilet? Um, what the fuck is that? It's Paris.
SPEAKER_01Paris get shut up. Paraskeca Triophobia. I got it. You got a triatua to a actual name, I'm pretty sure, is Frigatriska Decaphobia.
SPEAKER_00Like, fuck that number.
SPEAKER_01Yeah, fuck that specific number.
SPEAKER_00Take your time. Yeah, sorry, I can't talk. So uh anyway, so most people think it's you know, most people get kind of anxious about Friday 13th. Some people are scared of Friday the 13th. It's a holiday. You know, we've always been my so my grandparents had 13 kids, so my grandmother always said that 13 is a lucky number. It is. My dad's address is 1301. Um don't say that. But I'm not telling them where.
unknownYeah.
SPEAKER_00So, anyways, we've always called it Lucky 13. I've actually always liked Friday the 13th.
SPEAKER_01I don't like February 13th, but that's my own reasons.
SPEAKER_00Yeah. Well, you know what I like? I like February 15th because that's when the real magic happens. All that candy goes 50% off.
SPEAKER_01And you don't have to hear about, oh, happy Valentine's Day. I don't like Valentine's Day in this canto. I've never liked Valentine's Day. I didn't like it because I got bullied on that day, okay?
SPEAKER_00Well, but you know what? I honestly like, but but my husband spoils the fuck out of me every single day, but he really goes above and beyond on Valentine's Day. Oh, whatever. I always make sure you guys get it. So, anyways, uh wait.
SPEAKER_01What I I like, okay, edit this part out. This is like a research. You love each other every day. Why do you need a day to prove it?
SPEAKER_00Exactly. So, um, so we're gonna do some deep dives into this. Um, she just covered the crimes that happened on Friday the 13th. Some history. And some history, which is okay. Um, I'm gonna go into mainly history. There might be some interesting things that pop up too that we'll talk about. Um, it did actually, you know, inspire the movie Friday the 13th S series. I always loved those movies because I love scary movies. But um, anyways, a lot of people experience like anxiety on Friday the 13th. Um, and it actually hits the economy between 800 and 900 million dollars. Shit. Yeah. Like because people won't travel on that day or anything. Like some people are so scared of it that they won't even leave their house.
SPEAKER_01Maybe we should have more Friday than 13th.
SPEAKER_00Maybe. But most of the people that I like and some a lot of people that I don't like also like Friday the 13th too. So it wouldn't really make any bit of difference to me. Um Yeah, exactly. We did we we had all of our shit together and we were gonna do this episode on Friday 13th.
SPEAKER_01But we got tattoos.
SPEAKER_00But we went and got tattoos, which I've never got to do a flash sale on Friday 13th.
SPEAKER_01This is my third one.
SPEAKER_00And I've always wanted to, yeah, it was her third one. It was the first time we got to get tattoos together, which I was really, really excited for.
SPEAKER_01It was the first time she was there for one of my tattoos.
SPEAKER_00Ah, I never actually got to see her tattoos being done.
SPEAKER_01Um I've seen I've seen you get tattoos so many times.
SPEAKER_00I don't even know how many tattoos I have. I have so many.
SPEAKER_01But I gotta be honest six or seven.
SPEAKER_00Yeah. So, but how it started was so that the fear started in uh Norse mythology. So it goes all the way back to uh the gods were gathered at a banquet in Valhalla, 12 gods were invited, which was called a perfect balance number. However, an uninvited guest arrived, Loki the trickster god, and uh Loki, he was not invited. So it made so when he got there, it was 13 guests at the table, and chaos followed. Loki tricked the blind god whore into killing his brother Baldur, the beloved god of light and joy. Um, so then they said that it plunged the world into darkness. So that became that's where it became like associated with like betrayal, tragedy, disruption, and all that shit.
SPEAKER_01Shit. There's actually a Greek mythology version of that tale, but not on Friday the 13th.
SPEAKER_00Really? We'll have to write that down.
SPEAKER_01Um it's that one story with the golden apple.
SPEAKER_00Should we do a Greek episode? I think that'd be fun.
SPEAKER_01I think so, but there's so many different like interpretations of the stories.
SPEAKER_00Yeah, that's true.
SPEAKER_01Um then people, and then we're gonna get like some obnoxious ass Laura Olympus fan being like, I'm actually Persephone wasn't kidnapped!
SPEAKER_00Oh babe, she was. Yeah, fuck those people.
SPEAKER_01Babe, she was kidnapped.
SPEAKER_00So then we're gonna go into like um, so this is where Christianity and Last Supper. Um, they said that you know, in Christian traditions, the Last Supper there were 13 people at the table, Jesus and his 12 disciples. One of you were disappointed. Um the 13th guest who arrived was Judas, um, the disciple who betrayed Jesus. Because of this, both the number 13 and the day Friday became linked with uh misfortune in European folklore. Um, but you know what I think is. Yeah, thank God it's Friday because we're like, ooh, we get weekends off, and Jesus is like, well, you know, just don't invite too many people. You know, or one many people. Or one many people, exactly. That was so stupid. That was low-key, wasn't invited. So, um, so then we go into the the Victorian part of it. So historians say the superstition didn't fully combine into Friday 13th until much later. Um, the folklorist Steve Roud, or Rude, however you say his name, um said the specific pairing of Friday the 13th became popular during the 19th century, and then in 1907, a novel called Friday the 13th by Thomas Lawson was made, and so then it like started to become like super popular, right? Um, I don't know what that book's about. I'm gonna highlight that Friday the 13th. I bet you it's about a day and a specific date. I don't know, we'll have to look it up. I'm kind of it's up for interpretation, guys. You just never know. Um, so oh here it is. It says what it's about. Ha ha! So it's about a stockbroker who intentionally manipulates the market and triggers finan triggers financial panic on Friday the 13th, exploiting people's superstitions for profit, which is kind of wild because they're um and I don't remember what year it was, but the Stark the Stark market the stork market, take it um, you know, with it was there was just everybody was birds about it. Um no kidding. So the stock market crash was actually on Friday the 13th. But I don't recommend it. It was in the 1800s. Was it in the 1800s? I think so, yeah. You might want to double check that though. 1830s. Was it the 1830s? I think so. Maybe. Well, look it up just in case. Okay. Um and then we have the There was a very minor crash. The Knights Templar Myth. So So Knights Templar, a lot of people heard of that. I honestly have never heard of that.
SPEAKER_01Um the yeah, the Spanish Inqu Inquisition, I think.
SPEAKER_00The stock market crashes of fire?
SPEAKER_01No, the Templars. I only know this because of the fucking Assassin's Creed.
SPEAKER_00Oh, okay.
SPEAKER_01It it is based on real history, so I know that the Templars are all about like Christianity, I think. Oh, okay. I don't fucking know.
SPEAKER_00So on Friday 1389, I'm stupid. Oh! 1989 was a stock market crash. 1933, too. Oh, and in 1933?
SPEAKER_01Same day, October 13th.
SPEAKER_00Wow, that is this shit is bananas. B-A-N-A-N-A-S. Uh so on October 13th, 1307, not to be confused with the stock market crash. They were years apart, guys, like hundreds of years apart. So, 1307, hundreds of members of the powerful medieval order were arrested by King Philip the Fourth of France. Um, a lot of them were tortured and executed. So that was an unlucky Friday for them. Well, yeah. Yeah. Um, while this event did happen, historians say the connection to the superstition superstition likely became much later, especially after the books like the Da Vinci Code brought attention to it. Holy shit! You know what? I never knew what the Da Vinci Code was about.
SPEAKER_01I thought it was about Da Vinci.
SPEAKER_00I literally thought that's what it was about, too. Okay. Well, that's right. Yeah, I was like, I have no clue what this is about. Um, I was like, how is this like I don't know. Anyways, you guys look, okay. I like to think that I'm a reasonably intelligent person, and I know that Mia is by far way smarter than me. Uh uh the only Da Vinci I could think about was Leonardo da Vinci, and I'm like, I don't understand why this is such a big deal. He's an artist. Now, I love art, but I didn't, I just knew that there was some sort of scandal attached to it, didn't know what it was. Um, so it did, however, reinforce the myth, but it did not create it. Um, then we get into like the 1980 films, uh Friday 13th, where Jason Voorhees was that hockey mask serial killer, you know. Um he just became one of the most iconic horror villains ever created. Look, I gotta be honest, like when that came out, I was three and I wasn't allowed to watch it. But when my mom would watch those movies, like would you hide? I would hide. I would totally because I didn't hear go. I'd be like watching, and honestly, I got caught because mom would be like, ah, you know, like you remember my mom's voice. I do.
SPEAKER_01I know because I did that shit too.
SPEAKER_00Yes, you do. You sound just like her, but you know what? I got caught because I made the same noise. I was like five, I was like five or six, could have been seven. I don't even remember how old I was. I was hiding behind the couch and I wanted to know what the big deal was. I also never got to watch that movie with Eddie Murphy in it and um and Porkies. And I don't know why I wanted to watch those so bad, but I remember my aunt and her friend, they were like 13 or 14, and they were watching it in my grandparents' room, and they said, Don't you squeal, lady. That's my nickname, ladybug, lady. And I was like, What? She said, Don't you tell anybody? And I'm like, Okay, but do I get to watch it? No, I didn't get to watch it. As a matter of fact, they made me turn the other way. So, but you know, it's cool. I forgive you, and I still haven't seen those movies. Thanks a lot.
SPEAKER_01What which ones? I can watch this with you. Porkies, and like that sounds fucking stupid.
SPEAKER_00Honestly, it does. I you know, I don't even want to watch it now. And then the other one was with Eddie Murphy, and I don't know what that one was either.
SPEAKER_01I don't really like that.
SPEAKER_00And you know I don't know what it was? Because I had to turn around. I couldn't look. I had but I did have a coloring book and crayons with the sharpener on the back. So honestly, low-key, I didn't care. I was just mad that they didn't let me watch it. Um so then after that, that's when like franchises like really were like, oh fuck yeah, we're on this ship. Friday the 13th, hell yeah, let's do this.
SPEAKER_01And um I feel like I would have sold like apocalypse kits then. You know what? And like in 2012, or like before 2012, I totally would have sold apocalypse kits.
SPEAKER_00You know what? There's a lot of people that probably would have bought them.
SPEAKER_01Yeah, I know.
SPEAKER_00Yeah, yeah. I mean, not me though, because like I like to be grossly underpaired and just underprepared underpaired.
SPEAKER_01She she fucking hates pears.
SPEAKER_00She doesn't. I don't. Um, I honestly just um I have no object permanence. And so I know if I did get a kit um and it was for the apocalypse, I would put it in a very special spot, and then I would not know where that special spot is. Much like 90% of the things that I put away and I need on a specific day, and I can't find them, which is why I'm now using the first microphone set that I bought because I don't know where I put the new microphones that I got us. So check up your butt. No, but they might be there, you never know. I never know. So, um, but not everybody thinks that Friday the 13th is unlucky. Our family doesn't think it's unlucky. We never have. We've always called it Lucky 13. Um, but uh, so Spain and Greece, the unlucky day uh is not Friday the 13th. It's actually Tuesday the 13th. Honestly, that's because Tuesday is Monday's ugly sister. I'm just gonna say it. I actually like Mondays, but Tuesdays sometimes they just flat out suck.
SPEAKER_01So um and in Italy, I don't like Wednesdays.
SPEAKER_00Yeah. Italy, uh the unlucky day is Friday the 17th. I don't know.
SPEAKER_01That I just thought that was that's where I got 17 from earlier. Because I accidentally said May 17th. Where the fuck did that come from?
SPEAKER_00I don't know. Um, so there is some positive stuff to it too. Um this is where people like kind of flip it in ancient pagan cultures. Friday is actually considered lucky. Now, my grandmother was not pagan, she was extremely Catholic. However, um I do observe many pagan traditions, you know, even though I'm a cradle Catholic, you know, I still I still do observe a lot of those. So the name of Friday comes from an old English Friggs Day. Uh Frigg was a powerful Norse goddess associated with love, marriage, fertility, and prophecy. However, you can also known as Freya, I think. You could keep that fertility away from me.
SPEAKER_01I do believe I do follow the the Norse pantheon. I've been trying to get more into that because of our heritage and shit, but um I don't like I'm so bad at it. I've also like really been slacking on my Norwegian. But um Oh, okay.
SPEAKER_00So does that come from your dadside then? I think yeah, it's not for me. I'm not I'm not Norse. I wouldn't know if I well actually I would know because I got my little thing done. Um but her counterpart is Freya, she's another major goddess linked to magic or and fertility. Yep. Um because they're associations, Friday was once considered a fortunate day for marriage. Even the number 13 had a positive meaning in many ancient cultures that match the 13 lunar cycles in a year that was connected to fertility. What is all this connection to fertility? Some people don't have any business having damn kids.
SPEAKER_01Maybe fucking.
SPEAKER_00I know. Femininity and the rhythms of the moon. In other words, what later became a symbol of bad luck once was rent once resented. Take your time. Oh my gosh. Once represented life cycles and divine feminine power.
SPEAKER_01Hell yeah.
SPEAKER_00Pop off queen. Um, oh, that is that's actually rainbow tourmaline. I couldn't find my black tourmaline because I put it in a very safe space. But they gave me rainbow tourmaline for free, which I thought was really cool. I haven't even looked at it. Oh, I like pain. I like watermelon tourmaline. Um, I didn't even know that was. So the superstition, why this is the psychology of it. Um, why does it still exist today? They say it's because people are wired to look for patterns, which is true because you know, we are all prone to pattern behavior. We're creatures of habit, you know, that totally makes sense. Um, you know, for the same reason why if we have the same ritual every morning, you know, to get ready to go do something, and then we drop something or spill our coffee on our white shoes, which not saying that did happen to me, but um not saying it didn't, and I still haven't gotten that stain out, and I'm really upset about it. So my new Converse, they have the cute little symbols on them. I was so upset.
SPEAKER_01Oh shit.
SPEAKER_00Yeah. Yeah.
SPEAKER_01So we're also autistic though, so we get really upset about routine changes.
SPEAKER_00Yeah, that totally threw my entire day off, and after that I dropped every single thing I touched and I lost my keys, and it was a whole thing. Yeah. It just it just totally just you know flipped me upside down. They are in my bag.
SPEAKER_01They are in my bag.
SPEAKER_00I'm sorry. So um if something bad happens on Friday the 13th, people remember it. If nothing happens, they forget it. Simply stated.
SPEAKER_01I don't think anything bad has ever happened to me on a Friday the 13th.
SPEAKER_00That's good.
SPEAKER_01Just a regular 13th, yes. But like Friday the 13th, no.
SPEAKER_00I don't know, you know, it's like I will say, so um witches believe have always believed that Friday the 13th was a day of power historically, witches always believe that Friday the 13th held a um significant white people don't like it. Yeah, that's probably what it is too. Um, which is funny because like Whitch is funny.
SPEAKER_01It is funny.
SPEAKER_00No, no, so like you know, people have always given witches like a bad rep, but if they really go into studying the history of witchcraft and witches and stuff like that, it's not like that hocus poca shit.
SPEAKER_01They sacrifice babies!
SPEAKER_00No, they do not. So basically what it was is um, you know, they were people that were healers, you know. Like, so they would find ways to heal people that didn't involve medicine and stuff like that. Um, I don't know how it ended up getting a bad reputation or how people ended up like making it into be some negative thing, but it it wasn't. So now witches have this like, you know, reputation and like they're the villains and also the stuff. And I'm like, wow, y'all, that's kind of mean.
unknownYeah.
SPEAKER_00Yeah. I I probably could have said something more powerful there, but You're a dick. I mean, honestly, yeah. But you're a poopy head. Um the memories rein the those memories reinforce the belief that the date itself was cursed. It's a perfect example of how culture, mythology, and psychology combine to shape what we believe about luck. So um, all I'm saying is I I love Friday the 13th. Me too. I I don't think I've ever had a bad day on Friday the 13th. Me neither. I don't usually have bad days.
SPEAKER_01I just sometimes I'll have like uh I always have really good days on Friday the 13th because I get tattoos.
SPEAKER_00Well, you know what? Honestly, I really liked doing that. That was so much fun.
SPEAKER_01That was really cool. We met CY do it every time.
SPEAKER_00Yeah, we met a lot of really cool people. Um, and gotta be honest, like, you know, in in our town, there's a lot of tattoo places. There really is.
SPEAKER_01There really there's not shit else to do here.
SPEAKER_00Yeah, I mean, there's and and we've got a lot of talented artists in this area.
SPEAKER_01Oh my god, yeah.
SPEAKER_00But I have to be honest, I've I've never gone anywhere else. There's only been two different oh wow, guess what? Do you want to hear something bizarre?
SPEAKER_01Yeah.
SPEAKER_00So only two people ever tattooed me in all my tattoos. It was um, you know, in Washington State. I had my friend that, you know, she was a tattoo artist and she did my tattoos before, and then we came here and and Rick was always the person who did my tattoos. I've never had anybody else tattoo me. It didn't even dawn on me until Friday.
SPEAKER_01Yeah.
SPEAKER_00That's bizarre. That's that's the only thing you cheated on your artist. I I mean, not intentionally. They were in the same room.
SPEAKER_01My artist too.
SPEAKER_00They were in the same room when it happened, so it totally doesn't count.
SPEAKER_01Yeah, he was in the cuck chair.
SPEAKER_00Yeah, the cuck chair.
SPEAKER_01So, but um, I was like, however, I took look, I cheated on Daniel a long time ago, okay? But um Daniel at Patriot did my first tattoo, um, the Psychonaut 4 Heart Eye thing on my uh left arm. Um but then the flash sales, I always get Ashley at um Close Encounters. And I just cheated I got her two times in a row. She's tattooed me twice. But then this time I went to I got Tony at Patriot. I cheated on Ashley. I'm a whore.
SPEAKER_00And I got victims.
SPEAKER_01Plenty of people have penetrated my skin. So um tattooing me is like throwing a hot dog down a hallway.
SPEAKER_00Oh my gosh! Um, but anyways, like the the people that did our tat that that did the tattoos on Friday, they did an amazing job. I love the line work.
SPEAKER_01Um my god, Tony is so fucking funny.
SPEAKER_00Shout out to uh Patriot and JC. Uh yeah, Tony, amazing. Rick, amazing. Todd, you've got fantastic people in your building. Did not meet Victor before. I think he's new, but loved what he did. So um I told him he had freedom of creativity because I saw the butterfly tattoo and I thought it was so pretty.
SPEAKER_01It is really good.
SPEAKER_00It is, and I was like, I'm really glad you didn't get the colors. Yeah, and I was like, I like that. I just don't like the colors. It looked like Denver Bronco colors. I was like, what the fuck is that? So then it was a fucking oh.
SPEAKER_01It was a fucking um leprechaun day, whatever. I don't know.
SPEAKER_00I don't know. You know what? That would have been unlucky if I said, Yeah, go for it. No, I couldn't.
SPEAKER_01Yeah, sure. Tattoo a giant clover on my ass cheek.
SPEAKER_00Well, I don't think they they said they couldn't.
SPEAKER_01My ass cheeks weren't off limits.
SPEAKER_00They weren't off limits. I could have got my butt cheek. God damn it, Mom. We missed an opportunity. Um, so I didn't. I told I told I told Victor that he had freedom of creativity, that I didn't want color. I just wanted like, you know, black, white, gray.
SPEAKER_01God, what the fuck?
SPEAKER_00Yeah, you know what? He was nervous, but oh my gosh, it's so beautiful.
SPEAKER_01It looks way better than the picture. I think he freehanded shit.
SPEAKER_00He did. He did. I love it. It's beautiful.
SPEAKER_01I did. What I like about the flash sales is that they always like you can always tell that it's gonna look different because it varies from artist to artist. Because my friend Spencer and I got the same design last Friday the 13th in uh February. And um we both got a moth. I got it on my ankle. I got Ashley. Um Spencer got it on his wrist. Um and he got a different guy. But um our end results ended up looking so different, but it's still the same tattoo, you know. I love that.
SPEAKER_00So um I do want to go into one thing real quick because our Friday 13th episode is actually pretty short. Um, right, we've been in a Mercury re retrograde. Um, we're getting ready to come out of that.
SPEAKER_01That's how I feel like shit.
SPEAKER_00Yeah. Um, well, I think you just feel like shit because you just need to probably take better care of yourself.
SPEAKER_01Or blame the planets.
SPEAKER_00Or personal responsibility. I'm just kidding. So um so we are getting out of Mercury retrograde, uh, Mercury, Mercury, excuse me. Um on the 19th. Um, it's gonna be like a triple reset, new moon, Ostera, and Mercury Direct. So uh what that what that means is that Mercury retrograde is ending. The new moon arrives and Ostera begins. So all within 24 hours, um, you're gonna have the new moon on March 19th. It's a perfect time for a fresh start.
unknownOh yeah.
SPEAKER_00Um, set those intentions, you know. Now it's time to start projects since Mercury retrograde is ending. However, I have to admit that never stopped me in the first place. If you've ever seen that horror movie, um, The House of a Thousand Corpses by Rob Zombie.
SPEAKER_01It's a House of a Thousand Projects.
SPEAKER_00This house is kind of like a horror movie, um, because it's the House of a Thousand Projects.
SPEAKER_01I have so many projects planned, but I don't have the motivation to do fucking any of them.
SPEAKER_00Oh no, I'm just constantly working on something. I don't know why.
SPEAKER_01Um I love staying busy. I love having shit to do. But my body doesn't.
SPEAKER_00Yeah.
SPEAKER_01Because I'm just like Oh my god.
SPEAKER_00No, like I went to my doc the other day and I was like, I think we might need to up my meds because I cannot seem to slow down.
SPEAKER_01But if we up your meds anymore, they'll have you smoking crack.
SPEAKER_00Well, and you know what? That's he said they can't. He said they can't we can't go any higher.
SPEAKER_01Legally.
SPEAKER_00He said, Do you do you want to slow down?
SPEAKER_01I'm like just start smoking crack or something.
SPEAKER_00No, I mean it's like I told him, I said, I don't think I want to slow down, but I feel like sometimes I need to. But I mean, I'm almost 50, and like I just don't stop moving from the time I wake up until the time I go to bed.
SPEAKER_01Start taking your hydraulic system.
SPEAKER_00Uh, maybe. So uh Mercury Direct is on March 20th. So basically what that means is communication glitches, travel days, and technological disruptions are finally coming to an end. Thank you. Thank you, universe. I gotta be honest, that's just been a whole bunch. Um so also pesky exes and uh twats are gonna crawl back to where they came from. Woohoo! And they can stay there together. By the way, we had a windstorm this week and I saw those trash cans all over the neighborhood, and I was like, man, everybody's X's are getting wild.
SPEAKER_01My X rolled by.
SPEAKER_00So um Ostara is also on March 20th, so that must be Easter. Is Easter on March 20th this year?
unknownI don't know.
SPEAKER_00I don't know either. I guess I have to look. Um, so triple alignment, the reason why this matters is because Mercury clears the path um and it removes blocks. I know you know this, but a lot of people don't. Um the new moon plants the seeds, so it you set those intentions and uh Ostera activates the growth. Means whatever you're putting out there, that shit's gonna come to life. But you gotta take action. You can't just be like, hey, universe right now. Bitch, that's me. I need to get off my ass.
SPEAKER_01Oh my chakras are so aligned. So like I'm in the universe.
SPEAKER_00Are you making fun of me? She's totally making fun of me because you know what? Because I always talk about aligning my chakras and my meditations. And like when something happens, I'm always like, you know what? It's okay. The universe the universe is giving us guidance. I drive them crazy.
SPEAKER_01I fucking I created this monster and I'm gonna make fun of you.
SPEAKER_00Well, no, I mean I've always been this way.
SPEAKER_01I made you worse.
SPEAKER_00Yeah, I've been worse. Well, you know who made me worse actually? Elizabeth. When we went and saw her that last time.
SPEAKER_01Yeah.
SPEAKER_00Yeah. And she was like, Alright, now it's time for you to really start. Fuck, I forgot about that. We're done with him. So here we go. March 19th. This is the first day. You write everything down that you want to let go of in your life. Emotions, people, situations. I'm gonna need a scroll. I'm just kidding. Then you light a white candle, burn your notes in the flame, and throw the ashes away from your home.
SPEAKER_01You're gonna need an urn for that shit.
SPEAKER_00I like a I well, it's a good thing I have a huge fireplace out in the that's true.
SPEAKER_01We do have a fireplace.
SPEAKER_00Yeah. Well, down in the the outdoor theater.
SPEAKER_01Oh my god, we could have been doing like special like Ostara rituals this whole time.
SPEAKER_00It's a great time to start.
SPEAKER_01Fucking invite me.
SPEAKER_00Okay. So, uh March 20th, uh greet the sunrise. Okay, listen.
SPEAKER_01I'm not doing that shit.
SPEAKER_00I'm not gonna greet the sunrise. I'm not gonna do that.
SPEAKER_01No.
SPEAKER_00I might actually. I wake up pretty early sometimes.
SPEAKER_01That's a Friday? Okay. If it's a Saturday, then I would kind of have to, because I go to work before the sun comes up, and I leave work when the sun is already down.
SPEAKER_00So um we're happy to see spring arrive. Write down on a piece of paper everything you want to accomplish.
SPEAKER_01Oh, Tom Larer would be so happy that spring's here.
SPEAKER_00Find a spot in your garden and plant the paper with some seeds. If you don't have a garden, bury the note in a pot of a houseplant. Oh my gosh. Wouldn't it be funny if I buried something in the yard and then Norman brought it back in?
SPEAKER_01Oh my god.
SPEAKER_00Like the fish.
SPEAKER_01That would be pat.
SPEAKER_00The fish.
unknownYeah.
SPEAKER_00Oh my gosh.
SPEAKER_01Tom Larer would have been so happy that spring is here, but the squirrels aren't. The squirrels will not be happy. But oh I need to move.
SPEAKER_00I need to move your um your bird feeder.
unknownYeah.
SPEAKER_00The camera on it. So, anyways, it's the perfect time to cleanse and reset, release anything that no longer serves you, and it'll make space for those that do. Seriously, you guys, I know it sounds weird. Oh my god, you need to clean now. It's just time to just let it go.
SPEAKER_01Oh my god.
SPEAKER_00But seriously though, seriously though, seriously though. Like it, I I swear by this, and I do it all the time. And I send my friends these meditations and stuff and little practices that they could do, and I do them. Um, and like it does help, you know. Like I I had a I had some pretty rough moments this last week, and I just came down here to the office and I did a good meditation, a super, super good meditation.
SPEAKER_01I still wanted to throw rocks at people.
SPEAKER_00No, no, I felt better about it. I mean, you know, and I gave myself a really good reading, you know, and I journaled it and stuff, and like and I just kind of feel like it's like there's gonna be times when you know that that frustration and that anger can kind of sneak up on you. But you know, using those tools to just kind of let them go and release them, it does help a lot.
SPEAKER_01But anger and frustration are healthy, they are, but not all the time.
SPEAKER_00Yeah, anger sparks change, frustration sparks change.
SPEAKER_01Any crystal is protective if you throw it hard enough.
unknownOh my gosh.
SPEAKER_00So uh, anyways, guys, um, we're gonna be looking at some different things. We were talking about doing um Dracula, was it Dracula? Yes, Vladby Impaler. Oh yes. So we are gonna do an episode on that.
SPEAKER_01Fuck, I gotta read a book.
SPEAKER_00Um so we're gonna be doing an episode on that. Um, we've been doing a lot of like historical reference things lately. So history is more fascinating. It is you know what? You cannot make this shit up. It's more fascinating than fiction. Yep. We're we have a lot of stuff coming up. I do want to do some true crime. We haven't done true crime in a while, and we have a ton of that.
SPEAKER_01Oh god, never mind.
SPEAKER_00We should do the one about the parrot. Yes! Okay, that'll be our next one. I don't remember what it's called. Um, I do have some of my research. Ooh, that's gonna be a good one.
SPEAKER_01Polly does not want a cracker.
SPEAKER_00Well, Polly wants justice. Polly wants justice. Polly said, keep your fucking cracker, give me some justice, and then he flew the cube.
SPEAKER_01He squawked.
SPEAKER_00Ooh. Alright, guys, thanks for listening. Um we hope you keep doing that.
SPEAKER_01It was a parrot who the killer was.
SPEAKER_00Oh my god. He had a real feather in his cap. Okay, guys, we'll be doing that one. So, all right, our next episode will I get to laugh at that.
SPEAKER_01I got a text. That's okay.
SPEAKER_00It's alright. I figured it didn't land right. It's okay. No worries. So we'll that'll be our next episode. We'll do the one about the bird. Bird, bird, bird, bird's a word.
SPEAKER_01The fucking bird that I hate.
SPEAKER_00That fucking bird that I hate. That fucking bird that I hate. That fucking bird that I hate. All right, guys. Thanks for listening. Toodles. Bye.
